I was an unusual kid.
Unusual in an old soul way.

I grew up moving through different cultures, homes and families. Always adapting. Always observing. And it gave me a superpower...I learned  how to read people ... their tone, their silence, what they meant but didn’t say. ...Really well.

Writing became the place I went to make sense of it.

I’ve always been a writer. I can't remember a time in my life I wasn't writing, or lost in a book. 

Poetry was something I always hid until I won my first poetry contest in seventh grade — it was a poem about a strong mother duck and her babies. I still remember the little certificate. It was the first time I was proud of something I did.

And after that I was hooked.

In the late 90s, I wrote poems inspired by songs I loved. I remember writing a recovery poem for Third Eye Blind's Semi charmed Life when I was a kid... even then I understood the lyrics. 

As a teenager, I became inspired by Emily Dickinson and Carolyn Mary Kleefeld. Women who were quietly powerful and creative.

My writing is minimalist, romantic, and a little haunted. There’s a psychological edge to it. I write about love, memory, emotional residue, and life.

  The things I’ve buried inside
are the souls behind every line:)
